Five Teams Awarded for Collecting 1000kg of Trash

Kathmandu, 1st May : Trashes are everywhere in the streets of Kathmandu valley and we all are busy blaming the government for not making an appropriate effort to address this problem. But Mainadevi Foundation has made an effort to collect trash from these streets. In an attempt to create awareness about reducing pollution, the Maina Devi Foundation organized Kathmandu Trash Collection Race 2022 last Saturday. To support this noble cause, Kumari job had joined hands with Maina Devi Foundation as a career partner.

More than 400 youths ran a 4 KM long route of Hattisar-Ratopul-Setopul-Dillibazar-Putalisadak and collected over 1000 kg of garbage. 5 teams collecting the most trash were announced as winners and given a cash prize of Rs 10,000/- each along with a medal. The winners were Ramchandra Kumal and Bibek Pokhrel from Team Coffee, Lakshman Giri and Bishwaamitra Tharu from team Imperial Boys, Prem Prakash Khadka and Jashwin Bhaat from team Khawat. Likewise, Sabin Rai and Nima Rumba from team Peaceful Dove and Vinod Jethaara and Shankar Rokaya from Team The Revolution were announced as winners.
Along with this, there were other fun activities that were held by Kumari Job. The winners will be announced on Kumari Job’s social media page and winners will get an exciting gift hamper from Kumari Job.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sandesh Bhandari, Managing Director of Kumari Job said,” I am enthralled to see the active participation of youths in this kind of social activity. Kumari Job is always committed to helping the youths to find the right employment opportunities.”

Well-known personalities from the different fields like Cricketer Paras Khadka, former AIG Sarwendra Khanal, recent Mayoral Candidate of Kathmandu Balendra Shah aka Balen Shah, Singer Rekha Joshi, Stand-up comedian Himesh Panta, Journalist Rajendra Baniya and Cartoonz Crew had attended the event.
