Citation 2025: Nepal Toastmasters Annual Conference Concludes Successfully

TV Personality Tikaram Yatri awarded by Communicator Award in Citation 300 Toastmasters members witnessed international speaker Mihir Koltharkar’s keynote

Citation 2025, the annual conference of Toastmasters in Nepal, concluded successfully on Saturday, November 15, at Best Western Plus Kathmandu. The event brought together around 300 Toastmasters members from across the country, including professionals, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, students, and educators.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Mihir Koltharkar, a global award-winning trainer, TEDx speaker, and author. With an experience of over 2,500 sessions over a span of two decades, Mr. Koltharkar inspired the audience with practical leadership insights delivered in his signature engaging and interactive style, leaving a lasting impact on attendees.

A major highlight of Citation 2025 was the presentation of the Communicator Award, conferred annually to a non-Toastmaster for excellence in the field of communication. This year’s honoree was Mr. Tikaram Yatri, recognized for his contribution to promoting fearless, unbiased, and ethical communication through journalism and mass media. In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Yatri emphasized the profound responsibility that comes with choosing words wisely to create meaningful impact.

The conference also featured a humorous and insightful session by Distinguished Toastmaster Ravin Lama, one of Nepal’s earliest Toastmasters and a pioneer of the movement in the country. Attendees were further enriched by showcases of evaluation and tall-tale speeches from seasoned Toastmasters, reflecting the organization’s emphasis on experiential learning.

Citation 2025 welcomed several distinguished leaders from Toastmasters District 41, including Distinguished Toastmaster Shwetank Sharma, Program Quality Director, Distinguished Toastmaster Diptee Chettri Acharya, Club Growth Director, Toastmaster Euden Koirala, District Administration Manager, Toastmaster Ankit Goenka, District Finance Manager, Distinguished Toastmaster Moon Pradhan, Immediate Past District Director and Distinguished Toastmaster Ranjit Acharya, Nepal Expansion Chair. The conference was chaired by Toastmaster Dipesh Chalise, Coordinator of the Nepal Toastmasters Country Office.

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders through a global network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, the organization has more than 265,000 members in over 13,800 clubs across 149 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters has helped people from diverse backgrounds gain confidence in public speaking and leadership.

Initiated in 1992, the Toastmasters movement in Nepal has grown to over 1,400 members across 68 clubs in various cities. Members represent a wide spectrum of professions—business executives, students, educators, entrepreneurs, bankers, health professionals, engineers, and more. Nepal’s clubs are currently organized under Divisions A, B, C, and D within District 41, which encompasses North India and Nepal.
