Bringing Math to Life:  Embark UnMath and Premier International School Celebrate Numeracy Week 2025

Kathmandu, July 16: Embark UnMath, launched in 2012, is dedicated to bringing math out of textbooks and into real life through joyful, fear-free learning activities. In partnership with Premier International School, Embark UnMath recently celebrated Numeracy Week 2025, a special week designed to help students rediscover math through experiential learning.

With support from Embark UnMath, Premier International School transformed its classrooms into vibrant spaces of creativity and exploration. Throughout the week, students were able to engage with math in new and meaningful ways by connecting numbers with their imagination.

Divesh Bathija, co-founder of Embark UnMath, said, “At Embark UnMath, we believe math should be rooted in real-world thinking. Numeracy Week at Premier International School was more than just a celebration; it was a shift in how math is seen, felt, and experienced. Through storytelling, movement, design, and dialogue, students were able to rediscover math not just as learners but as creators. ”

The week featured a range of activities, including math storytelling, where students turned numbers into narratives; board game designing, which allowed them to apply mathematical thinking through play and strategy; math relay races that combined movement with quick thinking; and math extempore sessions that challenged learners to speak spontaneously and confidently about mathematical ideas.

Embark UnMath is reshaping math education by transforming abstract concepts into engaging hands-on experiences. By rethinking how math is taught and experienced, they are opening the door to lifelong learning and a genuine passion for mathematics.
